ITIDO has more than 7 years of experience in eHealth (Digital health) projects. ITIDO is a member (as well ‘the Secretary’) of Tanzania Mobile Community of Practice led by the Tanzania Ministry of Health through the M&E section to offer guidance and assist on implementing eHealth projects in Tanzania. Being a member, ITIDO participated in the development of the Tanzania eHealth Strategy and, in the development of recent mHealth guideline.
As a member and secretary of Tanzania Mobile Community of Practice ITIDO has been collaborating with Tanzania Ministry of Health, Regional Medical Doctors and District Medical Doctors and local government authorities in Tanzania , civil society partners, and partner organizations to influence adaptive capacities needed to meet neonatal and under-five healthcare needs of the communities; especially those registering alarming rates of child mortality in Tanzania
For the past years, ITIDO emerged as the organization that promoted mHealth practice that uses mobile and wireless technologies to support the achievement of health objectives; including how to affect social norms, achieve a good method mix, communicate the benefits of a health project, and address supply chain problems of health products. ITIDO collaborate, design and deploy applications, share experiences, and guide the development of mHealth to advance health objectives.
ITIDO has been doing ICT4D initiatives and managed to work with and/or for local and international organization to integrate ICT into Health Projects (Mother & Child Health, in particular) to enable information access and supporting healthcare operations, management and decision making.
